The annotations for a page can be manually loaded using the sidebar.
In the Mozilla suite, use F9 to open the sidebar, then select Annozilla.
In Mozilla Firefox, use View / Sidebar / Annozilla or Alt+Z to open the sidebar.
The annotations for the page can then be loaded with the 'Load annotation list' menu option from the Annotations menu.
Note: Looking to find some sample annotations? If you are loading annotations from the W3C test server at http://annotest.w3.org/annotations, then you can expect to find some annotations to load by visiting the page http://www.w3.org/2001/Annotea/ and loading the annotations for that page.
Annozilla can be configured to automatically load annotations when a new page is loaded. Users should note that autoloading of annotations will lead to details of your web browsing being sent to the annotations server.
The possible options are:
If configured, annotation icons will be inserted into the page at or near the annotated regions. The icons can be selected in order to load the annotation body.
Once the annotation list has been loaded, it will be displayed in the sidebar under "Annotation List". Each annotation can then be manipulated as follows:
The body text of the annotation can be viewed by double-clicking on the entry, or by right-clicking and selecting "View Annotation Body".
The annotation body is either loaded in the sidebar, or in a new window. Where they are loaded is set up in the "Viewing Options" preferences.
The annotation can be deleted from the server by opening the context (right-click) menu and selecting "Delete annotation".
The contents of the annotation can be edited by opening the context (right-click) menu and selecting "Edit annotation". See Editing annotations.
